Soundscape design for historical buildings as a sonic place-making process

Through the design of soundscape installations for three historical museum buildings, we explore how sonic placemaking may be used to reveal intangible cultural heritage. We build on Harrison and Dourish’s distinction between space place, Jordan Lacey’s definition understand sound-scape as a process creating places that support sensory connection be-tween guest space, hereby enabling new experiences. apply thinking approach systematize distinct choices affect intended placemaking. an inter-disciplinary spans interaction sound studies, investigate is explored through series activities addressing Hereby, identify aspects unique placemaking: Types Sound, Listening Attention Spatiality Listening.
